Big Daddy Jay's Special: General Tso's XXX Chicken Wing Challenge With Uncle Matt
Hi there folks. So this story started off when my buddy came across an awesome sauce at our local grocer. I was over at his place and he insisted that I try it. So I did, and then said, “Yea, it’s General Tso’s sauce, that’s the same flavor as the chicken in the Chinese restaurants.”
So we get to brainstorming the recipe we want to try, chicken wings. Finally, after much deliberating, we were ready to go ahead with the General Tso’s chicken wings. Then in a last minute decision, we came up with the challenge using a terribly special ingredient.
So this stuff is hot, it’s thick, it’s the color of blood, and for good reason. Lots of warning labels. It says only use one drop at a time. Alright, lets do this.
Ingredients
1/3 cup Soy Vay Spicy 'n Sweet Chili Heat Marinade & Dip
1/4 teaspoon 1 Million Scoville Pepper Extract Hot Sauce
8 oz package McCormick Golden Dip Tempura Seafood Batter Mix
2 1/2 pounds of chicken wing drumettes
Salt to taste
So, let’s begin by getting everything ready. In a large bowl, salt the wing drumettes before coating evenly with the tempura batter. Set that aside and get frier preheated to 350 degrees. In, a separate large bowl, prepare the sauce. I am only doing 4 wings for the challenge, and the rest I am just going to use the chili sauce and omit the extract. So combine the Soy Vay Spicy 'n Sweet Chili Heat Marinade & Dip with 1/4 teaspoon 1 Million Scoville Pepper Extract Hot Sauce. Set that aside. It’s gonna start producing small bubbles, so think of what it’s going to do to your insides. Fry the chicken wings for about half an hour or until lightly browned and crispy. Toss in the sauce and Enjoy….or don’t.
So, let’s get the the review. It begins with a very pleasant flavor before you get sucker punched in the face and gut at the same time. Imagine if BWW’s Mango Habanero was a 10, this stuff is easily pushing 12. I would say you could probably add a touch more of the extract for an immediate "hell no", but this recipe is something I would do again.
Well there ya have it. Big Daddy Jay’s General Tso’s XXX Chicken Wing Challenge. We did one per person. I probably could have gone back for a second. Can you do three? Let’s find out.
